Number Puzzle Questions are a part of the Cogat Test's Quantitative Battery.

In the Number Puzzle Questions, students are required to solve basic mathematical equations.

An equation says that two things are equal. It will have an equals sign "=" like this:

8 + 1 = 12–3

The equation says that what is on the left (8 + 1) is equal to what is on the right (12 − 3).


Example:

The right side of the equal sign is 3. Which answer should be given in place of the question mark, so that the left side of the equal is also 3 ?


13 - 10 = 3; 3=3


The right answer is “B”

Tips for Number Puzzle

 
  • Deeply understand the meaning of "equal", as the purpose is to provide the missing information that will make the two parts of the equation the same.

  • Train yourself to solve simple basic equations.

  • Practice with numbers and problem solving.
